Tibetan Silver
Tibetan silver is the white base-metal alloy these pieces are made from. It takes an antiqued finish beautifully, which is what gives the carving its depth, and it darkens slowly with wear.
Most people prefer it darkened. A soft cloth brings it back if you don't.
