Statues & Altar
Pieces for a shelf, a desk, a windowsill or an altar rather than for the body.
Guardian lions for a threshold, dragons for the east, a laughing Buddha facing the door, and monks for a desk you sit at too long. Ceramic, green sandstone, carved cypress and resin, every piece finished by hand, so colour and texture shift from one to the next.
Where a thing goes matters in Chinese practice as much as what it is, so each page says where the convention puts it.
