A fox grows one tail every hundred years. Nine means it has run out of ways to get older.
That is the arithmetic under the jiuweihu (九尾狐), the nine-tailed fox. At nine tails the creature is held to turn gold and ascend, which makes the nine-tailed form the finished article and not a stage on the way to one. Auspicious omen in the oldest texts, seductress and troublemaker in the later ones, and both readings survived intact.
What it gets worn for now is charm and being noticed, which is a fair descendant of both.
Nine tails also need somewhere to go. The fox is carved the full width of the band with the tails fanning to either side, and on anything narrower the motif would read as texture.
Buy it if you want to be looked at. The fox has never pretended to be about anything else.
Getting the size right
A wide band sits tighter than a narrow one at the same nominal size. If you are between sizes, go up.
Looking after stainless steel
No maintenance at all. No polishing, no removing it for water, no mark on your finger. A cloth if it dulls.
Steel means you can wear something this size every day without ever babying it, which is the practical case for taking the fox in this material.

Rings that come in sizes have a Size Guide link under the size options. It shows how to measure your finger with a piece of string and matches the result to US, UK and EU sizes. Rings without size options are adjustable or one size, and the Specifications say which.
Send it back within 30 days. Open-band rings can also be adjusted by gently squeezing or widening the band.
Only when the listing says 925. Tibetan silver is a silver-coloured alloy, and we name the exact metal in the Specifications on every ring.
Tibetan silver darkens gradually with wear, which most people prefer, and a soft cloth brightens it again. Stainless steel does not fade or tarnish.
Stainless steel rings are fine in water. Take off Tibetan silver, gold-toned and stone-set rings before washing up, swimming or using hand cream.
