Two fish and a lotus is not a scene. It is a sentence.
Lotus is 蓮 and fish is 魚, and in Chinese both are puns. 蓮 sounds like 連, one year following another, and 魚 sounds like 餘, what is left over when the year is done. Put the two together and the pendant reads 連年有餘: plenty, year after year. It is painted on New Year prints and stitched onto quilts, and it is a wish for a surplus that keeps coming back rather than a windfall that arrives once.
The stone is white chalcedony, which in Chinese is called 玉髓, jade marrow. It is the waxy, close-grained quartz that fills the hollows left inside rock, and it gets there slowly, one thin layer laid over the last until the space is full. Which is the same idea the fish and the lotus are making. This is a stone for money that accrues quietly, and it has never been the stone for a windfall.
For anyone who would like next year to be easier than this one. That is why it is a standard gift at Chinese New Year, and it carries just as well to a birthday, a new job or a house move, because the wish is aimed at the year ahead and not at the day you hand it over. Give it to someone who has just had a hard twelve months and the meaning does the talking for you.
It is also quiet enough to wear every day. Nobody reads the pun unless they know it, so what most people see is a white stone and a gold lotus.
Keep it away from perfume and hairspray, which dull a gold finish faster than anything else, and take it off before swimming. A dry cloth if it clouds.

Every necklace lists its chain or cord length in the Specifications. As a guide, 45 cm sits on the collarbone and 60 cm on the upper chest. The Length Guide above the Add to cart button shows both.
When the Specifications say natural jadeite, jade, agate, chalcedony or obsidian, that is what it is. The exact material of every piece is named there, including the metal and any plating.
Close, but not identical. Natural stone differs in colour and marking from piece to piece, and hand carving varies a little too.
Yes. Stainless steel can be worn in water. Jade and other stone can stay on through the day, but take it off before sport or anything involving impact. Keep enamel and plated pieces away from water, perfume and abrasion.
