Carried Close
A pendant rests against the chest, over a shirt or under it, where you feel it through the day. Every design here carries a meaning from tradition: a Buddha for calm, a dragon for strength, jade for protection.

Count the loops. There are two.
The dragon does not close into a ring. It crosses over its own body halfway down and comes back the other way, so what hangs on the chain is a figure eight. On a Chinese piece that is not a neutral shape. Eight is the number people pay extra for on a car plate and a phone number, because ba (八) sounds like fa (發), to prosper. Turned on its side it is also the sign for infinity. The pendant is both at once and it did not have to try.
The coiled dragon with its head brought round to its own tail is old here. The Hongshan (紅山) culture was carving jade ones five thousand years ago. Wherever the shape turns up it says the same thing: no beginning, no end, and destruction and creation as a single motion.
For anyone who has had to knock something down to build the next thing. That is the whole content of the symbol, and it is a more useful idea than most.
The two tones do real work. Gold runs along the dragon's back and mane, antiqued steel down the belly plates, so at the crossing point you can still tell which length of the body is in front. Without that it would read as a knot.
The steel needs nothing. It will not rust and there is no reason to take it off for water. The gold is a surface finish rather than solid metal, so keep it away from abrasives and it will stay as it is. A cloth if it dulls.

Every necklace lists its chain or cord length in the Specifications. As a guide, 45 cm sits on the collarbone and 60 cm on the upper chest. The Length Guide above the Add to cart button shows both.
When the Specifications say natural jadeite, jade, agate, chalcedony or obsidian, that is what it is. The exact material of every piece is named there, including the metal and any plating.
Close, but not identical. Natural stone differs in colour and marking from piece to piece, and hand carving varies a little too.
Yes. Stainless steel can be worn in water. Jade and other stone can stay on through the day, but take it off before sport or anything involving impact. Keep enamel and plated pieces away from water, perfume and abrasion.
