蹯, gǔ, is the thing this fox exists to guard against. The word covers venom, curse and bewitchment at once, and immunity from it is what the oldest surviving description of the nine-tailed fox promises. Two thousand years on, the sense of it has not really moved: the people quietly working against you, the situation you did not see being arranged.
The fox here is curled and asleep. Head tucked down, tails fanned over its back. The same creature is often carved mid-stride with the tails streaming behind it, which is the showier version. This one is not announcing anything, which is the point of a guard.
For anyone who suspects the problem is a person. Not a bad patch, not bad luck. Someone.

Wearing & Care
Jade is traditionally kept on rather than taken off, and it takes a polish from skin over the years. The cord slips over the head with a red agate bead sitting above the pendant. A soft cloth is all it needs if it dulls. Jadeite is tough but it will chip against a hard edge.

How long is it, and where will it sit?
Every necklace lists its chain or cord length in the Specifications. As a guide, 45 cm sits on the collarbone and 60 cm on the upper chest. The Length Guide above the Add to cart button shows both.
Is the stone real?
When the Specifications say natural jadeite, jade, agate, chalcedony or obsidian, that is what it is. The exact material of every piece is named there, including the metal and any plating.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Close, but not identical. Natural stone differs in colour and marking from piece to piece, and hand carving varies a little too.
Can I wear it every day?
Yes. Stainless steel can be worn in water. Jade and other stone can stay on through the day, but take it off before sport or anything involving impact. Keep enamel and plated pieces away from water, perfume and abrasion.
