Everything else is arranged around it. Amethyst makes up the body of the bracelet, banded purple running into white so that no two beads match, and it does the quiet work underneath: the clear head, the settled mind. Then at the front, either side of the gold, sit the two stones the bracelet is named for.

White moonstone for intuition. Hold one up to the light and it turns translucent, with a soft glow under the surface that shifts as you turn the bead. That is adularescence, and in white moonstone it is milky and silvery rather than the strong blue of the pricier blue-sheen grades. Light that comes from inside and only shows when you move is not a bad description of knowing something before you can explain it.

Strawberry quartz for relationships and self affection. In Chinese practice it is the peach blossom stone, taohua (桃花), worn for luck in love and for the everyday good fortune that arrives through other people liking you. The pink is full of tiny red flecks, iron inclusions, and that is where the name comes from.

Wearing & Care

Elastic, no clasp, so roll it on rather than stretching it wide. Amethyst fades in strong sun over a long enough time, and the gold finish is plated, so keep it clear of perfume and hairspray and take it off before a shower. A dry cloth is all it wants.
