The lion dance is not a performance. It is a job.
At New Year and at shop openings the lion goes in and does specific work. It eats the greens tied above the door, chews them, and spits them back out over the crowd. Cai qing (採青), plucking the green. What it spits out is the blessing, and the business that hired it has effectively bought a year of luck.
The head is the whole thing. The eyes blink, the ears move, and the operator inside does most of the acting through the face.
Small and bright, and nothing solemn about it. To be clear about what it is: the bead behind the head is white jade, the lion itself is enamelled gold-tone metal.
For anyone opening something. A shop, a studio, a restaurant. The lion is what you hire on the first day, and this is that in miniature.

How long is it, and where will it sit?
Every necklace lists its chain or cord length in the Specifications. As a guide, 45 cm sits on the collarbone and 60 cm on the upper chest. The Length Guide above the Add to cart button shows both.
Is the stone real?
When the Specifications say natural jadeite, jade, agate, chalcedony or obsidian, that is what it is. The exact material of every piece is named there, including the metal and any plating.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Close, but not identical. Natural stone differs in colour and marking from piece to piece, and hand carving varies a little too.
Can I wear it every day?
Yes. Stainless steel can be worn in water. Jade and other stone can stay on through the day, but take it off before sport or anything involving impact. Keep enamel and plated pieces away from water, perfume and abrasion.
What if I do not like it?
