Most jade Buddhas are a picture. This one is an object.
The usual jade Buddha is a flat plaque with an outline cut into the face of it, so there is a front, and a back, and not much in between. This one is carved in the round. The knees come forward, the robe folds over the crossed legs, the head sits proud of the shoulders, and the figure reads from the side as well as straight on. You feel the difference before you see it.
He is seated in meditation with his palms together at the chest. The long earlobes are from the years he spent wearing a prince's earrings, before he stopped. The tight curls and the raised crown of the head are the marks that tell you which Buddha this is.
For somebody who needs the reminder to sit still, rather than the reminder to let things go. This is the Buddha who taught. The round laughing monk with the sack is a different figure and a different job, and the two get given for different reasons.

How long is it, and where will it sit?
Every necklace lists its chain or cord length in the Specifications. As a guide, 45 cm sits on the collarbone and 60 cm on the upper chest. The Length Guide above the Add to cart button shows both.
Is the stone real?
When the Specifications say natural jadeite, jade, agate, chalcedony or obsidian, that is what it is. The exact material of every piece is named there, including the metal and any plating.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Close, but not identical. Natural stone differs in colour and marking from piece to piece, and hand carving varies a little too.
Can I wear it every day?
Yes. Stainless steel can be worn in water. Jade and other stone can stay on through the day, but take it off before sport or anything involving impact. Keep enamel and plated pieces away from water, perfume and abrasion.
